Auping celebrates its first event in Barcelona together with Decotherapy

We are very grateful to have had the pleasure of hosting the event”The perfect bedroom” in the company of sleep expert Jana Fernández and stylist Carmen Figueras in our showroom in Barcelona.

Auping smart beds come equipped with an anti-snore system and a smart alarm clock that wakes you up without the annoying noises of the alarm clock. In addition, our mattresses offer different levels of firmness in a single mattress, customizing the design of the beds to suit the specific needs of the clients.

Sleep Talk: When sleep improves, everything improves

As we mentioned before, there was an informative talk with Jana Fernández, a sleep expert. During this talk, crucial aspects were highlighted, such as the importance of sleep for health and performance, the phases of sleep and how to identify if we are having a good rest.

Valuable tips for improving sleep quality were explored, from the influence of light, silence and temperature, to the smells that can impact sleep quality. We explain them below:

  • quality over quantity: It's not just about the number of hours we spend in bed, but the quality of our sleep. This process follows a rhythm, and the more regular and consistent we are in our sleep routine, the better our rest will be.
  • The architecture of the dream: Our night is made up of distinct phases. We start with light sleep, move on to less light sleep, then to deep sleep (non-REM) where the body is active but the brain rests, and finally, to REM sleep, where the brain is active while the body remains still, boosting our cognitive abilities.
  • Understanding sleep quality: How can we tell if we are getting quality sleep? When we wake up in the morning. Duration, continuity, depth and consistency are key elements to consider. Sleep fragmentation can disrupt the natural process, depriving us of restful sleep.
  • The importance of sleep: Sleep goes beyond resting. It is vital for memory consolidation and learning. In addition, it modulates our immune response, cleanses our brain through the lymphatic system, and allows regeneration and growth, secreting hormones essential for our health.
  • Balance and deep sleep: Adequate sleep regulates the hormonal system, influencing sensations such as hunger and appetite. Melatonin induces sleep, while cortisol wakes us up. Deep sleep, essential for regeneration, represents a crucial part of the process.

When we understand the importance of sleep, we realize that improving its quality not only helps us feel better rested, but positively impacts our overall health and daily performance.
