All Auping box springs are made to order in Deventer. We cut the fabric and hand-upholster the mattress, the base, and the headboard in our own sewing workshop. The result: a unique piece designed for you, not for stock.
Three layers, a complete sleep system
An Auping box spring consists of an upholstered box with pocket springs and a mesh base, a mattress with a spring base for optimal support, and a topper that defines the final feeling of comfort. Each layer has a function. Together, they form the most complete sleep system in the collection.
Total adjustability from your phone
Adjustable models are controlled from the Auping Connect app or with a wireless remote. Adjust the backrest, feet, and head, save up to 3 favorite positions, and personalize each side separately if you sleep as a couple.
What exactly is a box spring and how does it differ from a normal bed?
A box spring is a layered sleep system that integrates the base, mattress, and topper into a single upholstered piece of furniture. Unlike a conventional bed, where the mattress rests on a separate bed base, in a box spring everything is part of the same structure with a double layer of pocket springs, both in the lower box and in the mattress. The result is a more enveloping and soft feel, with a clean aesthetic and complete customization in fabric, color, and finish.
What should I consider when buying a box spring?
Before you decide, consider the size you need (single or double), whether you prefer a fixed or adjustable base, your firmness preferences, and the style you want for your bedroom in terms of color and fabric. What sizes are Auping box springs available in?
Auping box springs are available in the most common sizes: widths from 80 to 200 cm and lengths of 200, 210, or 220 cm. The Original and Kiruna models are also available in a divisible version—two halves with wheels that make cleaning and moving within the bedroom easier. We recommend choosing a length at least 20 cm longer than the height of the tallest person sleeping in it.
Can the position of the box spring be adjusted?
Yes. Auping adjustable models allow you to regulate the backrest, feet, and head, with options for 1, 2, or 3 motors depending on the model. You can control them from the Auping Connect app on your smartphone or with the wireless remote, and save up to 3 favorite positions. In double beds, each side is independently adjustable.
