Original Box Spring
The classic of the collection. Auping’s signature steel mesh base serves as the foundation for this box spring, which is available in a variety of fabrics, colors, and configuration options. It can be chosen in a fixed version or an adjustable version with 1, 2, or 3 motors.
Criade Box Spring
A steel frame that defines the bed’s character and lends the entire piece a sense of solidity. Its slender legs visually lighten the design without compromising stability. Available in 10 frame colors and 87 fabric options, with an adjustable option and 4 different headboards to suit your preferences.
Kiruna Box Spring
The top-of-the-line box spring in the Auping collection. It features natural materials such as sheep’s wool and horsehair, along with a high-end upholstered mattress and an included topper. A meticulously crafted design that brings together all the comfort elements of the sleep system.

All Auping box springs are made to order in Deventer. In our own workshop, we cut the fabric and hand-upholster the base, the mattress, and the headboard. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece, created for each customer, not for stock.

An Auping box spring consists of an upholstered base with pocket springs and a mesh base, a mattress with a spring core that provides balanced support, and a topper that determines the final feel of comfort. Each layer serves a specific purpose. Together, they form a complete sleep system within the collection.
What exactly is a box spring and how does it differ from a normal bed?
A box spring is a layered sleep system that combines the base, mattress, and topper into a single upholstered unit. Unlike a conventional bed, where the mattress rests on a separate box spring, the Auping box spring is constructed as a continuous structure with a double layer of pocket springs: one in the base and another in the mattress. This combination offers a more progressive and balanced sleeping experience and also allows for extensive customization in terms of fabrics, colors, and finishes.
What should I consider when buying a box spring?
Before making a decision, it’s a good idea to decide on the size—single or double—the type of base—fixed or adjustable—the firmness level, and the style of your bedroom in terms of color and fabric. At Auping, you can customize every detail of your box spring and count on the support of our specialists throughout the process, so the final result matches your preferences.
What sizes are Auping box springs available in?
Auping box springs are available in the most common sizes: widths ranging from 80 to 200 cm and lengths of 200, 210, or 220 cm. The Original and Kiruna models are also available in a split version, consisting of two halves on casters that make cleaning and moving them around the bedroom easier.
We recommend choosing a length that is at least 20–30 cm longer than the height of the tallest person who will be sleeping on it.
Can the position of the box spring be adjusted?
Yes. Auping’s adjustable beds allow you to adjust the backrest, footrest, and headboard, with options for 1, 2, or 3 motors depending on the model. You can adjust each position using the wireless remote control and save up to 3 favorite positions. On double beds, each side can be adjusted independently.
