The Original bed is inspired by one of Auping’s earliest designs: the Cleopatra. The result is a minimalist bed with strong lines and an elegant look. You can fully personalise the bed so it perfectly matches the style and design of your bedroom.

A lifetime on the same steel frame.
The Original is a no-fuss design that hides true technical ingenuity. Its steel frame makes it exceptionally durable — literally, for life — and it’s easy and intuitive to dismantle. Made partly by hand and partly with precision machinery in Deventer, every element is designed to disappear into the whole, leaving only the elegance of its lines.
Frame design
Steel frame available in 10 colours, including vibrant options and neutral tones. With legs and lower caps in the colour you prefer for a fully coordinated look.
Headboard design
Three options: Straight (minimalist lacquered wood), Outline (upholstered with subtle piping and breathable lining) and Stitch (upholstered with decorative stitching in two heights). Each with its own character.
Base design
Compatible with all Auping mattresses and bases. The spiral base is always black, adding contrast and definition to the overall look.
