What should I consider when buying a bed?
You need an average of 8 hours of sleep each night. And, of course, you want to spend that time in a bed where you can truly relax. What should you look for when buying a new bed?
- The length and width you need.
- Whether you prefer a fixed or adjustable bed base.
- Your sleeping arrangements, such as whether you sleep alone or with a partner.
- Your personal preferences regarding materials and color.
What bed size do I need?
Your new bed should, of course, fit in your bedroom. And not only that: it’s also important that it’s the right length and width for you. That’s why we offer beds in all standard sizes.
We recommend choosing a bed that is 20 to 30 cm longer than the tallest person who will be sleeping in it. Both single and double beds are available in lengths of 200, 210, and 220 cm.
Whether you prefer to have more space or like to sleep close to your partner, you’ll find a bed that suits your needs.
What is the difference between a bed with a traditional box spring and one with an Auping mesh base?
Most traditional beds feature a slatted base made of horizontal wooden slats that support the weight of the mattress and the sleeper. These slats cover a large portion of the mattress’s surface, which hinders ventilation. In addition, they can provide a relatively firm support.
In contrast, Auping’s steel mesh bed base leaves up to 80% of the mattress surface exposed, allowing for optimal ventilation. This air circulation contributes to better regulation of body temperature during the different stages of sleep, helps wick away moisture generated by perspiration, and promotes better hygiene for the mattress. Despite its open structure, the mesh base provides up to 10,000 support points on the mattress, ensuring excellent adaptability.
How often should beds be replaced?
The quality of the materials used in the manufacture of the various components of the bed (frame, bed base, and mattress) is key to determining its lifespan. Auping uses only top-quality materials and offers warranties that exceed those of most manufacturers.
The mattress is the only item that requires regular inspection, as it directly affects the quality of your sleep. While other brands recommend replacing it every 7 to 10 years, at Auping we guarantee it for 10 years. Thanks to the quality of its materials and craftsmanship, it can even be used for longer if it continues to provide a good level of comfort and support.
It is recommended that you consider replacing it only when it no longer provides adequate support for optimal rest.
